Leonor Botelho
Maria Leonor Botelho is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto (Department of Heritage Studies), where she is the President of the Scientific Commission of the BA in History of Art. She is an integrated researcher of CITCEM /FLUP - work group "Material and Immaterial Heritage". She integrates the scientific comittee of the Digital Museum of University of Porto as the heritage management expertise. Botelho is a member of the European Association for Urban History (EAUH) and is part of the UNESCO Chair entitled ‘Heritage, Cities and Landscapes. Sustainable Management, Conservation, Planning and Design’, hosted by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto and coordinated by professor Teresa Cunha Ferreira, in collaboration with professor Rui Fernandes Póvoas.
She heads up research in the areas of architecture and historiography of the Romanesque period, of the DGEMN's interventions in Romanesque architecture in Portugal. Her field of work and research has grown within the scope of heritage management, digital heritage and world heritage.
Maria Leonor Botelho has been an executive member of the organizing committees of several scientific conferences related to the urban heritage: 1st International Conference "Porto as a Tourism Destination. City Tourism” (2013), International Conference “Lost and Transformed Cities: a digital perspective” (Lisboa, 2016), V Criative Cities International Conference (Porto, 2017). Together with Ricardo Dias, Maria Leonor Botelho has translated into Portuguese the London Charter for the computer-based visualization of cultural heritage.
Since 2015 she has been one of the coordinators, curators and producers of several virtual exhibitions published at FLUP section on Google Arts and Culture platform.
Together with Prof. Lúcia Rosas and Prof. Mário Barroca, she coordinates the Encyclopedia of Romanesque in Portugal (2018-2021), under the collaboration protocol signed between the FLUP and the Fundación Santa María la Real del Patrimonio Histórico, un Proyecto desde Castilla y Leon (FLUP/PS-CPS/2018-72404), to be published in 2023.

Maria Leonor Botelho é Professora Associada na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto (Departamento de Estudos do Património), onde é Presidente da Comissão Científica da Licenciatura em História da Arte. É investigadora integrada do CITCEM/FLUP - grupo de trabalho "Património Material e Imaterial". Integra a comissão científica do Museu Digital da Universidade do Porto como especialista em gestão do património. Botelho é membro da Associação Europeia de História Urbana (EAUH) e faz parte da Cátedra UNESCO intitulada "Património, Cidades e Paisagens. Gestão Sustentável, Conservação, Planeamento e Design», acolhido pela Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto e coordenado pela professora Teresa Cunha Ferreira, em colaboração com o professor Rui Fernandes Póvoas.
Dirige investigação nas áreas da arquitetura e historiografia do período românico, das intervenções da DGEMN na arquitetura românica em Portugal. O seu campo de trabalho e investigação tem crescido no âmbito da gestão do património, património digital e património mundial.
Maria Leonor Botelho tem sido membro executivo das comissões organizadoras de várias conferências científicas relacionadas com o património urbano: 1ª Conferência Internacional "O Porto como Destino Turístico. City Tourism" (2013), Conferência Internacional "Lost and Transformed Cities: a digital perspetive" (Lisboa, 2016), V Conferência Internacional Criative Cities (Porto, 2017). Juntamente com Ricardo Dias, Maria Leonor Botelho traduziu para português a Carta de Londres para a visualização informática do património cultural.
Desde 2015 é uma das coordenadoras, curadoras e produtoras de várias exposições virtuais publicadas na secção FLUP na plataforma Google Arts and Culture.
Coordena, juntamente com a Prof.ª Lúcia Rosas e o Prof. Mário Barroca, a Enciclopédia do Românico em Portugal (2018-2021), no âmbito do protocolo de colaboração assinado entre a FLUP e a Fundación Santa María la Real del Patrimonio Histórico, un Proyecto desde Castilla y León (FLUP/PS-CPS/2018-72404), a publicar em 2023.
